Welcome to the first blog post of the new school year! And over the past 3 weeks, the Cast Iron Orcas have been working hard to get everything up and running amid the swath of new talent we have this year.
the Mechanical Team, led now by Zeke has been working on onboarding new recruits this year, including safety certifications, showing people around the space. Mechanical has also been working on getting Fusion 360 accounts running, and redesigning the cart of the robot.
Operations, led by John Anderson this year after his mid-year takeover last year, has been focusing primarily on Tailgate, as the Orcas are planning to set up a ramen bar for fundraising. We are also working on getting socials set back up, including this blog right here, as well as the YouTube channel and the Instagram. There is also a recruitment poster in the works, but do to minor setbacks, it will take longer than intended.
Programming, led by Zirakhan Ishaque, has been working on downloading the software onto the computers we received this year, as well as installing RAM on them, and getting Fusion 360 installed on them in the first place. Programming has also received a new monitor this year, in addition to setting up new WiFi.
